Born in New Jersey, author J. William Campbell spent his early years roaming the beaches and turnpikes of his native state when he wasn’t busy devouring science fiction and fantasy novels.  He earned a B.S. from the United States Naval Academy at Annapolis, graduating with high honors, and served as a naval aviator and geophysics officer during the Cold War and first Gulf War.  He holds a master’s degree from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and was twice a finalist for NASA astronaut candidate selection.  Since leaving the Navy, he has worked  in the telecommunications industry, earning two U.S. Patents.  He is the author of six novels and plays a mean guitar.
